Croatia has got an amazing water color, incredible landscapes and a lot of party islands. I want to share with all of you our trip. I will resume our itinerary with all the important information about places that we went to make sure that you enjoy a lot. Are you ready to join me in this fantastic adventure?
Our Croatia itinerary:
* 4 nights in Hvar;
* 3 nights in Split;
* 1 night in Dubrovnik.
To be honest with you our plan for this road trip was perfect for our holidays. We prearranged the car to rent as soon as we arrived to the airport.
First stop: HVAR
Hvar island is known because has got a lovely nightlife and a lot of parties. Hvar is full of clubs and bars around the island. Hula Hula Beach bar (https://www.instagram.com/hulahulahvar) and Carpe Diem are the most popular clubs.
Hvar has got amazing beaches that you must visit: mirna, Jelsa and Stari Grad. We spent one day just exploring the island and the marvelous views.
We also decided for adventure and for two days we rented a small boat (approximately 60£ per day/ 450 HRK). We had so much fun exploring the other islands nearby Hvar and we enjoyed the sun. The color of the water is more than perfect. All pictures don't describe how beautiful nature is. We prepared food and drinks for the day. We had opportunity to party in the boat with music in the middle of nowhere, surround by water. Take a boat to the Palmizana island if you are looking for a beach party.
Bursje village has lavender fields nearby and is bloom now and you can visit because is ajust a few miles from Hvar town.
Try to buy your groceries and snacks in the supermarket because the little shops in the town center tend to overprice.
Second stop: SPLIT
In Split you cannot miss out the city. Diocletian Palace area, there is a cathedral, several museums, church tower and the picturesque street all around. Split is an old town with roman architecture dating back to 4 A.D and is full of cafes and shops as well. To get a fantastic view of the city you can climb up to Marjan "Prava Vidilica". One of the best restaurants and not overprice is Five (https://www.instagram.com/fifesplit).
On the split coastline you will find many beaches with clear water and white sand. Sandy ones are: Bacvice and Firule, all the rest are pebble beaches. Other beaches that we visited and enjoyed are: Jadran and Kasjuni (more party/day beach) and "Prva Voda" below Marjan hill.
We spent one of the days exploring Krka National Park. This park is located an hour and 45 minutes outside of Split. His place has got a gorgeous waterfall and involves cascades with natural pools. I would recommended.
Last stop: DUBROVNIK
Dubrovnik is one of the most popular cities in Croatia. Dubrovnik is a UNESCO world Heritage Site and is also very popular because it was the filming site of Kings Landing in the Game of Thrones. I found this city very busy and a touristic place, although fascinating. The medieval stone building and churches are amazing. You have to climb to the city walls (approximately 200 HRK). Climb up with cable car, car or you can walk up to Srd mountain above the city and you will realize that the view is stunning.
I felt that Dubrovnik is even more overprice than the other places in Croatia. Although, we found Barba (https://www.instagram.com/barba.dubrovnik) an excellent and very different place to eat street food and I really recommend to try.
Would we go back back to Croatia?? YESSSSSS
Definitely, we would like to go back and visit other places. We can't deny that Croatia is breathtaking country and you must visit!!!
